Growing up in the country, roaming around the hills and creeks, I had found and collected a number of fossils with uncommon minerals as their primary substance. Everyone I knew told me that it didn’t matter that a rock looked like a bone or an animal or skin, a rock was just a rock unless it was actually bone or a scientist called it a fossil. 

Over the last few years, I have been researching the methods of erosion and sedimentation that occurred during and after the global flood. One specific area of my focus was on various types of minerals, such as chert and flint, and how those minerals are deposited and crystallize. 

But in the last 10 years, I began to form my own hypothesis of how certain minerals could crystallize or be deposited and form the types of fossils I had been finding. Imagine my joy when my research for the last three years culminated in the confirmation of exactly what I suspected was true.

Here’s where our story took us…

In February 2019, my son Caleb and I drove rugged beautiful trail into the desert in death Valley California. We went there so I could soak in the hot springs to fix my back which had been hurting severely. To my delight there happened to also be a retired geologist there who loved to share any information he could regarding his field of expertise. 

I picked his brain and learned that almost the exact process I pictured in the formation of these unusual fossils was the precise process for the formation of certain minerals. I had nailed it! Praise God!!! After I left the desert, I researched more online, confirming the accuracy of those deposits and that process of fossilization on which I had speculated. 

My God-given understanding of the process of the global flood, combined with my hands-on knowledge and research out in the woods and creeks and in the wilds of Alaska and throughout the southern United States for many years, all had worked together to help me predict correctly how those fossils came to be made where they are from those specific minerals. I was ecstatic with this gift of knowledge God had granted to me after many years of study and research!

Now to PROVE IT!!! 

The next step was to put my knowledge and learning into action, to find more evidence that supported what I had come to understand. For the next few months I researched all across the south west up into the mid west. I was delighted with all the evidence I found!
